Latest Updates from Our Project:

☆ Poll Results ☆ Veined Octopus
2 months ago – Tue, Feb 03, 2026 at 11:59:45 AM

So the poll ended at a flat 50/50.

What we're gonna do is both 😂. The standard size will be in the colouration you've already seen. The large size we'll do in a different colourway. I'm working on the preview for those at the moment.

The mini for this tier is a blue ringed octopus, he's causing me a bit of trouble at the moment but he'll be done soon too. Unless we lose a tonne of backers I think we can call this tier unlocked :).

I'll set up new bundles and add-ons for the large pin as soon as the preview for the design is done.

Have a fabulous week everyone, back soon ~

🌐 ☆ Preview ☆ Veined Octopus
3 months ago – Wed, Jan 28, 2026 at 04:46:49 PM

Hey everyone ~

Whew, that took a little longer than I expected. But! Hopefully its worth it.

So here's the standard size and the large size previews side by side. The standard size (left) might need to be simplified further, based on recommendations by the manufacturer. But this is roughly what we'd be looking at;

So standard size is 2" vs large size at 2.5". The veining pattern might need to be simplified further, but I didn't want to draw it out again if its not needed (large is winning the poll right now, make sure you vote below!). Standard has one less layer of shading overall, and a few fewer details here and there. The veining won't have any shading, and overall the look will be flatter; and they might ask us to fill in a few more suckers with metal rather than enamel. We're going for copper/rose gold finish on this one, because I think the gold wouldn't show up so well against the octopus colours. The fade is achieved with print, it'll be the same technique we used on our fade iris and sweet pea flower pins, plus the same screen print layering as with the skulls;

Not the best photos, please forgive me. We've found our maufacturer to have very high quality results with print so far. I know that puts some people off, so just putting it out there. Also with the skulls, on the left is a 1.75" and on the right is a 2.5". You can see the difference in size and the level of detail we managed to get in each.

The poll has three days left, after that we'll announce the winner and how to add large pins to your order if it does win. If not then it'll just be in the same standard pool as the others :).

Stay tuned! We still have the mini pin for this tier, and maybe a few more surprises.

☆ 48hr Update ☆ Poll, Preview and more!
3 months ago – Sat, Jan 24, 2026 at 01:09:37 PM

Hey everyone ~

First of all, a massive thank you for the fabulous start to Pintopia 2026. We're on our way to last stretch goal tier and that's great. Thank you all for your support :).

We have a new poll below. For the £5500 tier I really need your feedback.

So far each tier has had one standard pin (2") and one mini pin (1.5"). I was planning to make the veined octopus a standard pin, but the more I work on it the more I realise its got a loooot of details. Here's a look at the kind of messy WIP;

The pattern is just starting and you can see how complicated it is. To make it the way I'd like to, it would need to be a 2.5" large pin, with several layers of print to make up the shading. That's the next size up from standard, it'd be in its own category at around £14 each. I'll add an add-on so you can add it to your existing order, and some different pledge tier bundles you can switch to if you'd rather. If we do go up a size, we might have one or two more large size designs in higher stretch goals, if we fund that far. I'll also have a different standard design in this tier as well - meaning the £5500 will have three different pins.

Alternatively, I simplify the design a little bit and just release it as a standard pin. It'll have less shading but still be cool. Make sure you vote below.

Otherwise! I really want your guys' suggestions. Any stationery you'd like to see this time around? I'm thinking a stickerbook design maybe. And any species requests, those are always fun - I get to look up stuff. If we do use your suggestion you get a crow prize pin so don't be shy :).

Otherwise, stay tuned. The veined design should be finished in the next day or two and there should be more to come!

☆ Collaboration Announcement ☆
3 months ago – Mon, Jan 12, 2026 at 06:29:58 AM

Hey ~

We're collaborating with Short Circuit again this Pintopia!

Back both projects to receive these two mini pins for free. Ours is the blue ringed octopus; 1.5 in with a copper metal plating. Make sure you check 'em out, they have plushie designs this year.

☆ Freebie Round up ☆
3 months ago – Thu, Jan 08, 2026 at 06:04:10 PM

Hey everyone ~

Just a quick one to show you all the incentives we have for this campaign. Make sure you vote in the poll to help decide our returning backer freebie, and check the launch party page periodically to see new pin designs.

First up is our banner freebie. We are under the Nautical banner for Pintopia this year, which features a lot of cool sea and sea creature themed projects. Back 3+ Nautical projects and get a FREE sticker from each backed campaign. Stickers are 3" in size and vinyl material, ours are matte finish with transparent background.

We are collaborating with Short Circuit again, but we'll have a whole reveal for that soon! They have another great line up this year so definitely check them out.

Returning Backers

Vote in our poll to decide which of the dumbo octopus colourways will be the returning backer freebie for this campaign. Runner up will be unlocked in the initial funding tier. They'll be 1.5" with screen print detail. Not 100% decided on the metal colours yet.

Early Bird

Pledge within the first 48 hours to receive this cuttlefish mini pin for free. They'll be 1.5 - 1.75" (depending on manufacturer recommendation) with gold metal plating and screen printed details.

Crow Prize Feathers

I only order these in batches of 50, so we're gonna cycle through colours every two campaigns or so. This campaign will be whatever black ones are leftover, and then transitioning to the new blue ones. You get them for free by being in our top 10 contributors list (you can see it on the community tab), commenting frequently, making a suggestion that gets used in the campaign or finding a mistake I made somewhere.

Pre Launch Followers

There's a freebie for following the project before launch, its just not quite finished yet. It'll be a 3in (or more) special effect vinyl sticker, probably select holo. (If you're not a fan of holo, just make a note on your survey and I'll send a couple of random non holo stickers instead).

I think that's it for now :). This is a slightly more low key campaign than the last two, but I really didn't want to miss Pintopia and I've been planning cephalopods since last year. We're taking a little break after this to concentrate on fulfilment for 2025 projects before further campaigns later into 2026.

Stay tuned ~
